TRAMP @ Pink, this Thursday, July 24th

TRAMP @ Pink, Thursday, July 24th

It’s Monday morning, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve been drinking a large coffee and listening to Lindstrøm for the last three hours. I hope you’re nothing like me. Well, maybe just a little bit.

Anyway, I’m rather excited for Thursday night. The Lacquer DJs will be joining the TRAMP crew for the first party at our new location, Pink, on 16th between Mission & South Van Ness (map). I’ll be DJing for an hour and dancing for four hours. Come by and join the party if you’re around. I’m taking requests.

W Hotel this Friday, 10pm-1am

W Hotel

I’m DJing at the W Hotel in San Francisco (map) this Friday, July 18th, from 10pm to 1am. I’ll be spinning everything from IDM/glitch to 80s to indie rock, so swing by if you have a chance. I’ll even play your favorite song, unless it kind of sucks. See you on the floor!

Parties and such

Super Amigos

Well, last night was one of the most fun nights of my life. Thanks to everyone who came out, and I can’t wait till the next Kissing Booth. Or the W next week. Or TRAMP on the 24th.

But in the meantime, there’s something very important I need to talk to you about. I’m DJing a house party tonight. Mexican Wrestlers vs. American Gladiators. It’s high time I got over my crippling fear of Mexican wrestler masks. Either that or I’m going to have one scary time. Live funk band followed by my DJ set. Check the Web site for the details. And come enjoy.

Kissing Booth @ Make-Out Room this Thursday, 7/10

Kissing Booth
J.O.R.Y. and I are switching up the format at our monthly Make-Out Room nights. Starting tomorrow, every second Thursday at Make-Out Room will be Kissing Booth, indie songs for romantic lovers. TRAMP will be moving to Pink starting on Thursday, July 24th, and it will still make you dance your little pink hot-pants off. We’ll have Mario Muse DJing with us for the July dates, and hopefully for many more. See you at the disco.

Coachella 2008

Coachella

The official Coachella 2008 dates have recently been announced: April 25-27, 2008. Rumors are starting to fly around about who will play and who will reunite for the festival, as each year usually boasts a few notable reunions.

I, for one, have been having vivid dreams of the festival the past couple nights. I’m counting the days until I can once again be sweating my ass off in the hot Palm Springs sun, and loving every minute of it.

And since Nic Harcourt just played these song on Morning Becomes Eclectic, here are a couple tunes that bring Coachella to mind. The first is Arctic Monkeys covering Amy Winehouse’s “You Know I’m No Good.” The original definitely conjures images of last April, and this cover adds a new touch to it. The second song is The Verve’s “Lucky Man.” Here’s hoping the recently reunited Verve will be gracing the desert stage this April.

Amen, sister! Amen!

I can’t even pull out choice quotes because the entire thing is amazing. You don’t even have to wait for the payoff. It kicks in right away. Enjoy.

Ho On the Go

Ho On the Go

I cannot even begin to tell you how much I’ve been sloring around lately. I barely even remember my home address because I’ve been absolutely killing it with the ladies. So I was delighted to come across Ho On the Go, the original overnight kit for the modern one night stand. This is amazing for several reasons. First, it allows me to take home women without feeling guilty about their dental hygiene (that’s the real reason I rarely bring ‘em back to the Opium Den). Secondly, now I know that when I see a “ho on the go” out at the bars, I’ll know she’s the one for me. Oh, it’s a dream come true.

Alas, all dreams have their shortcomings (except for that one where I was surfing on a giant guitar pick through a forest of giant flowers and the sky tasted like sherbert… that one was pretty awesome). Ho On the Go, what’s with the latex condoms? Sure, 99.9% of the world can use them, but what about us less fortunate souls? If I saw a girl carrying one of these packs, chances are I wouldn’t even want to walk by her without some sort of protection. So it looks like I’ll have to come up with my own pack. Slut in a rut? Whore that’s a bore? I’ll think of something.

In the meantime, back to sloring. See ya out there.
